2009 Founder's BallEach year the Alumni Association convenes CalArts alumni, faculty, staff and friends to pay tribute to individuals who made a significant contribution to the lives of CalArts alumni and the greater arts community. On Saturday, November 14, 2009, alumni from across the country will meet at REDCAT to celebrate the 2009 honorees. This year's recipients of the Lulu Award, which recognizes community members who embody the founding spirit of CalArts, are John Bergamo, former faculty in the Herb Alpert School of Music, and Cristyne Lawson, former Dean of the Lund School of Dance. This year's recipient of the Nellie Award, which recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to CalArts and the arts community, is Betzy Bromberg, Director of CalArts' Program in Film and Video. This year's honorary alumni are V. Shannon Clyne, CalArts Trustee Emeritus, and Leo Hobaica, Assistant Dean of CalArts' School of Film/Video. To read more about this year's honorees, click here.
